C is for...Construction?

This is right outside my office door. Can you tell what it is? I'll tell you - it's a blocked off area of construction! They're tearing out the ceiling and replacing it before it falls on some poor unsuspecting person's head. 3/4 of the hallway is blocked off, so to go to the bathroom I have to go downstairs, down the hall, and back upstairs to the other side of the hallway. It's really not as annoying as it sounds though, and it's kind of nice to have an excuse to walk farther and take longer going to the bathroom. An adventure a minute! 

Technical Problems

A vital piece of my job is gift processing. When donations to the school are made, I pick them up, count them, enter them correctly into the database so that they are applied to the correct funds and designations, and then convert and upload the files so that the business office can post the money to the general ledger. Well for the last week I have been unable to convert or upload them. This is my "OMG why won't IT just come and FIX this already face." Right after making this face, though, I called IT (this is after 4 unanswered e-mails) and got someone to come fix it. It only took them an hour sitting at my desk which is the LEAST of the things they've had to do to get this damn thing to work. Let this be a lesson to you if you're an IT person - DON'T completely change a department's programs unless you a) know how they use it, and b) test it and make sure it works first! 

Only One Rides the Bus...

I went to the city today for a Raiser's Edge training/user's group. I decided to ride the bus to the BART station 'cause I didn't feel like dealing with parking, and didn't have time to get the front wheel and brake back on my bike before I needed to leave. Shockingly, I was the only one on the bus!!! Here I am, with a weird look on my face showing you both how empty the bus was, and how badly I need a haircut!

My co-workers and I teamed up and biked to work on "Bike to Work Day" today. There were energizer stations all around the bay - we got free tote bags, water bottles, etc. It was pretty fun!

I hate this stupid program. I stared at this stupid green and black box for way too long today at work. However, every time it says "KERMIT READY TO SERVE" I kind of giggle a little to myself. Now if only Kermit would actually do what I want him to do, instead of just blinking green cursors at me...

Babies are Irresistible

On a work outing today, we stopped by Monterey Market.  They had adorable baby versions of just about everything there was - tangerines, artichokes, etc. Here my co-worker, Kap, holds up a lil' baby pineapple.
