I spent the day helping Jess get her classroom together. It was a disaster because the teacher who had it before her isn't quite as badass as Jess is. Anyway, it looks pretty good now! Check out those maps, I put those up. Booyah.

Stopped to take a picture of these flowers while I was out on the run from hell today. I looove these flowers though. They're all over Berkeley and I just love the bold purple color. They bloom most of the year and every time I see them they make me happy. Even when my calves are on fire.

We're having a heat wave in the Bay!!! I dunno if you can read under the "81F" but it says, "Very warm." I checked again later, as I was sweating in my office and it said, "Hot." hahahaha. I'm wearing shorts tomorrow!

My First Triathlon!!!

My transition station all set up and ready to go. It's still dark out! I had FUN doing this triathlon. Final time: 1:34:14 with transition time (totaled 6 minutes), and 1:28:14 actual running/biking/swimming time. I'm proud of me!!! :-D

Spotted a family of deer (deers?) in Oakland tonight! You can't read the sign in this pic but it says, "OK to pet, but please do not feed." Seems reasonable enough. You can't go feeding wooden deer all willy nilly now can you? They'll never learn to fend for themselves!

Final Brick!

I did my final training brick today! I decided to do all 3 sports - swim, bike, run - and I did the milage for each that I will have to do for the tri on Saturday. I'm happy to report that with transitions it took me 2 hours and 3 minutes to complete, and without including transition time (which was LONG) I finished the distance in an hour and 47 minutes! My goal is under 2 hours. I'm feeling ready for Saturday! :)

Jess, Kristi, Josh, Shana and I went to Grand Lake Theater to see "Inception" (2nd time for me). It's a gorgeous theater! Unfortunately it was dark so my pics didn't turn out great, but I thought this one was still kinda cool. Or...is it from a dream...WHO CAN SAY!?!?!?

We had an American Idol party at work to say farewell to our co-worker, Russell, who is president of a highly exclusive and formerly secret American Idol fan club. Workout Wednesdays!

Kap, Katherine, and I biked after work to the end of the East Bay Train in Richmond and grabbed dinner and drinks. It was gorgeous out, and was a great ride - a little under 15 miles round trip. Next Wednesday: Iron Horse Trail!
