Cabin Time

Yeah. Those are gummy worms (and spiders. gross) soaked in vodka. Yeah. It is as good as it sounds.

DONE!

9-17-12
And here is my newly organized, clean, spiffy room. I'm not totally sure it was worth all the headache...but yeah it probably is. That thing is HUGE and will forever live in this apartment much like my massive television which I never ever want to move again.

Oh Little Dog

9-16-12
So Little Dog and I spent a good amount of time together today. Jess is not feeling well, and I was going to the store, and Jess suggested I take Little Dog with me. I figured since I was going to Alameda, I might as well take her along and take her for a walk along the beach afterwards. So that's what I did.

Little did I know that Little Dog insists on sitting on your lap as you drive. Not only that. She wants to drive.

I successfully tuckered her out for the drive home, though, and she was content to sleep on my lap. Still refused to sit in the passenger seat though. She just would not have any of that. Oh well. I guess it's sorta cute?

Hmmm...

9-15-12
So...this is my bedroom floor right now. Yeaaah. I am about to go sleep on the living room floor tonight because...I got this awesome shelf for free off of freecyle. However, it was a bit more of a bear to put together than I thought it would be. So my bed is inaccessible, as is the rest of my room basically. It's a bonafide disaster.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get it together, with Jess' help. I just can't get it done alone - it's too big! I can't lift it by myself...but I can't do anything else/move forward until I can lift it.

Better be worth it 'cause sleeping on the floor is not what one might call ideal.

Treats!

9-14-12
I worked from home today, so after getting a lot done I decided to get out in the sun for a while. I figured I'd head out to Mariposa Bakery 'cause usually I get home too late and they're closed. Which is both good and bad. It's bad because this bakery is seriously amazing, especially if you can't have gluten (everything is gluten-free! And fantastic, too. You'd never know it was gluten-free a good amount of the time). It's good because...I want to eat all the foods when I'm there. All. The. Foods.

So. I biked 'cause I figured if I wanted a treat, I ought to work for it. Here's what I got. Mmmmmmmmmm...it's been SO long since I have had a cinnamon roll. It was SO worth the 15 mile (round trip) bike ride up and down Oakland's hills. They even warmed it up for me a little bit. mmmmmmmm....good way to spend a Friday afternoon if you ask me!

HIMYM

9-13-12
Officially fall with pumpkin-flavored things everywhere. Even better, though? HIMYM references at Peet's! From my all-time favorite episode. Hahaha! Awesome. If you don't get the reference, you need to watch that episode, that's for darn sure.

Season premier soon! Can't wait!

Gotye

9-9-12
Gotye in concert. This is during my favorite song. He kept changing the dates and venues of his shows, but Delphine and I both agreed after the show that he redeemed himself. Really great live. And animations during every song, which I loved. Reminded me of Gorillaz (though not as good, sorry Gotye).

Tonight's Dinner Brought to you by Pinterest

9-8-12
I was in a cooking/cleaning mood this weekend. Not sure why, but I decided to try out some recipes I found on pinterest. Above are the BEST freaking potatoes you'll ever eat. Seriously. They're amazing. And it's awesome because we often have way too many potatoes hanging around (they come in our CSA a lot). Mmmmm...super easy, and incredibly delicious.

Then I decided we also had waaay too many sweet potatoes (it's true. Like...3 bags), so I decided to try out this recipe, too. However, as you can see I used broccoli, not cauliflower because we also had 3 heads of broccoli, 2 of which were threatening to go bad. So I substituted. This soup was delicious, and really easy to make. I may have made it again a couple nights later...
